I'm Hugo Erazo. I build software for the web.
I am Hugo, a software engineer who has learned that this career is about much more than writing code. It is also about people, energy, confidence, and finding your own rhythm in a fast-moving industry.
Some days are exciting, others are heavy, and most are somewhere in between. This space is where I reflect on that reality and on what helps me keep moving with purpose, curiosity, and balance.
If you are building software while also trying to build a good life, you are in the right place. I hope these thoughts make you feel less alone and a little more grounded in your own journey.
Professional experience
Over more than twenty years in software, I have worked across many stages of product development and in different kinds of teams. Along the way I have taken on responsibilities as a full-stack engineer, back-end engineer, lead developer, software architect, and database analyst, moving between hands-on implementation, technical planning, system design, and long-term platform thinking.
My experience has taught me how to adapt to very different business contexts while keeping a practical engineering mindset. I have spent years building features from scratch, maintaining legacy systems, improving stability, shaping APIs, refining data models, supporting releases, and helping teams turn complex problems into clear and maintainable solutions.
